Queen Bees maintain clubs positive start to season

  • by

The Queen Bees began their season with a home match on Saturday vs VK Barnet Mets. With some new players added to the squad, including player/coach Jess, there was lots of positivity for this match.

The first set was a tight affair but Queen Bees saw their efforts rewarded with a 25-19 win. Mets came back strong in the second winning it 11-25 meaning it was all to play for. A close third saw the Queen Bees take the overall lead again 25-23 but the game was about to take another turn. With experienced player Fiona having to come off due to injury, the Mets took the fourth set 15-25. The deciding set was closely contested but Queen Bees were the eventual winners 15-11, taking the game 3-2 in sets.

Tess Mehar was voted MVP, demonstrating some excellent serving and off-setting skills

A big THANK YOU to Katy and Sandy for officiating what was an excellent and entertaining match.
