The second intra-club match took play on Saturday with the Wolverines taking on the Lions.

The Wolverines got off to a flying start in the first set but the Lions played some good volleyball to make them work for the win. The Wolverines eventually took it 25-22. The second set was less of a contest and some excellent attacking play saw them extend their lead taking the second set 25-13.

This forced the Lions into making some drastic changes to get back in the match and it worked as they took the third set 25-18! They continued where they left off in the fourth with some great serving taking that one 25-13 and forcing a deciding set.

The 5th set saw the Wolverines take an early 4-point lead but the Lions weren’t going to give up easily and pushed them all the way. Unfortunately for the Lions those early points made the difference and Wolverines took the decider 15-11.

The next Intra-club match is Saturday 2nd December when the Sharks take on the Lions at SFO (3-5pm)
