A lost 1-3 to Harriers Jets
The men's first team lost 1-3 to Jets. From a coach's perspective I
am certainly not disappointed about this result as we all played very
well, and
even managed to take a set from a very strong team. I don't see any
reason why
we can't beat them when we meet again at home with a little bit of hard
work
and practise in training! Guys that were there, well done! And don't
forget to
vote for you player of the match on
Teamer.

After a poor start in the first set,
getting ourselves 9-4 down, a Time Out allowed us to regroup, then
taking the lead at 17-16, all playing
really well as a team & having fun to take that first set 25-19, I
think.
We carried that on through the entire second set to win by a
comfortable margin.
I made the mistake to shuffle the team a bit, slightly changing the
rotation in the third set, which found us out of positions a few times
to give them points while VK had a much stronger line-up. We fought
hard all the way, unfortunately losing 25-23.
We all started to get tired in the fourth, loosing 25-18 I think but
still giving them a very good fight, with great digs, chasings &
sets.
As we were gearing up to take on the fifth, all willing to win, VK
conceded the match as we had run out of time.
It was a very enjoyable match with great rallies & positive
attitude from all. Thanks to our team for making it such a good match
& a win!!!
