Still recovering from Ashcombe! Long old day.Harriers Hawks (away) 30/10/2004
WHVC entered the Mixed Division 2. We played 3 matches, won 2 and lost 1 to come second in our pool. There were two pools so we reached the semi finals. What a match the semi was! We were playing the number 1 team in the other pool and played the best match all day, everyone was on top form and played a match to be proud of. The opposition came on thinking it would be a walk over.... how wrong they were! Marco was the Italian stalion and played brilliantly, as did everyone else. We all came off buzzing - 2 set win!!!!!! Well done to the team who played fantastically!
The final........ we sat watching them finish their match in the semi and they were ready to play the final as soon as they had finished. Maybe we relaxed too much or were just shattered. We lost 2 sets and got the silvers....ice-creams all round from the coach!! Medals presented and memories to last a life time, still buzzing! Next year is their 30th anniversary 2 day affair!! We've got to get two teams in - got a position to hold!

Great match we all played really well. I will now be announcing "Man of the Match!" at the end of each game we play. Today's match without any question it was the coach himselfMr Carl Williams
Great hitting and play all-round. Saying that I think everyone played very well as a team and will tell you everybody about it on Monday!

Match on Thursday was a convincing 3-0 victory for WHVC and a very good team effort all round. 10 players all got at least part of a set and we even managed a supporter.
I think we should nominateall team members as
'man of the match' since we where delayed by almost 1 hour due to security at the gate, our team kept their cool and played exceptionally well together.
Special mention to Joanna for her support and role as coach!
