Reports

Chair:
Glyn reported that the season had been busy, but without any major problems. Next season is expected to be busier still, particularly with the Olympics, and the resignation of two committee members this year (Treasurer and Secretary). Major emphasis from his point of view this season on raising the standard of officiating.
Treasurer: (in absentio)
Income: £1192.57
Expenditure: £837.27
Total Assets: £1858.56
Situation good, and recommended (accepted) that HVA fees will remain same for coming season. Formally resigned.
Fixtures:
Request that all date changes between teams are notified to Fixtures sec as well.
No particular problems, but had noticed refereeing complaints on scoresheets. There followed general discussion re. refereeing, where it was decided that all clubs need to take officiating very seriously. All matches must have two referees (subject to fines if not for responsible team), and in particular Division 1 matches must have at least one registered referee. Misbehaviour will not be tolerated. Clubs will be asked to supply details of registered referees (if any).
Youth Development
Good and busy season. Dawn mentioned that Guy has been doing an increasing amount of work for which she is grateful, and hinted that he may be succeeding her soon. Strongly encouraged all clubs to get Clubmarked and undergo CRB checks etc.
Nomads
Good season - promoted to Division 2.
Elections
Chair: Glyn (unopposed)
Secretary: Philip Mould, Vale (unopposed)
Treasurer: no candidate (though Krys from Luton may be able to do it). Email will be sent to clubs requesting candidates by end of July for election at Fixtures meeting.
Fixtures: Mick (unopposed)
Webmaster: Mick (unopposed)
Juniors: Dawn (unopposed)
League Structure
Welwyn A will be promoted to Division 1. VK Barnet 2 will drop to Division 2. St Clement Danes will enter a team (mostly juniors) in Division 2. There will be a mixed Division (3 men / 3 ladies on court). There was some concern that standard might be too high in some teams without restrictions, but we will see how it goes.
Forthcoming Events

Rule updates (mainly typos, and changes to refereeing requirements) will be emailed, along with requests for Treasurer candidates soon, both to be voted on in Extraordinary General Meeting to take place for 1/2 hour pre-fixtures meeting.

Glyn will contact Guy re. refereeing course.

Pre-season mixed tournament to take place Sunday 18th September at Herts SportsVillage. Entry is £6 per player, HVA will provide funding for prizes.
