Below are some pix of the Sitting Volleyball Grand Prix event at the
National Volleyball Centre in Kettering, and it's the second such event
I've officiated at in recent weeks. It involves 10 sitting volleyball
clubs from around the country, each playing against all the others over
the course of the day. As a scorer, I had 2 matches on, one off and so
on, totalling 12 matches to score over the day. Among those playing are
all the players for the GB mens and womens teams for the 2012
Paralympics, so as you can imagine the standard is very high and it is
always a very enjoyable if demanding day.
I've got a couple more of these to do, as well as an international
Sitting tournament along with Standing European Cup and National Cup
final stages so it's going to be a very busy next few months.
Even if I don't make it through to the final selection, it will have
been a fantastic experience and a privilege to have been so close to
volleyball at the highest level this country can offer for the
past eighteen months.
