The course is held over four days (8 hours per day) and is a mixture of practical (70%) and Theoretical (30%) elements.  Candidates who are successful following the course will receive the English Volleyball Associations Level 2 Award, which is recognised by local Authorities, DFES and other establishments that require coaches to be qualified as well as becoming one of the pre-requisites for being able to coach in the higher levels of the National League.

Candidates wishing to attend the course must hold a Level 1 award (either current UKCC version or previous EVA version).

The new UKCC (UK Coaching Certificate) defines the different coaching levels as follows:

Level 1-Assist more qualified coaches, delivering aspects of coaching sessions normally under direct supervision.

Level 2- Prepare for, deliver and review coaching session(s)

Level 3- Plan, implement analyse and revise annual coaching programmes.

It is envisaged that the new UKCC will be implemented over the next few years and all coaches wishing to operate in the UK will need to have a ratified UKCC licence.
